I have vanquished the impersonal Amazon customer service fiends and retrieved another batch of money due me in refunds. Refund was 48% of item total; now, it's 85%. (15% was shipping and handling and we owed them, since it wasn't their fault we didn't want the silly thing...)

Go, me! More books in my future!

::wry:: Well, holiday returns have an extension over the usual 'must return within 30 days.' I knew this. Their website knew this. The lady on the *phone* knew this. The guys handling their automated system of 'hi, I have a problem' did *not* know this, or were not admitting it. They tried to charge me a 20% restocking fee and an extra shipping and handling fee for being 'late,' which I wasn't. It's taken care of now, though. Man, though -- I was getting testy about it. ::G::
