I've been trying to decide why the dream sequence in this movie bothered me. I finally came to the conclusion that I feel as if they never made up their minds what they were doing. I see two possible options, but neither fits with what was done in the movie. Either Harry was receiving the dream through his link with Voldemort and the dream should have been shown from Voldemort's POV (instead of the caretaker's) or it was a vision and shouldn't have been nearly so coherent. The subconscious uses its own language, and it's not quite that straightforward, even for a teenage mage.

::shrug:: My opinion, of course. Other people's mileage may vary. Just sticking it in here to refer back to after I reread the book later. After my Yuletide fic is done, in other words.
