"So then what happened?"

Nov 01, 2005 14:23

hesychasm invented a neat new meme: Ask me what happens next after one of my stories and I'll tell you.

taselby added two caveats: I may not know. You may not like the answer. I'm adding a third caveat: In no way am I promising to write a sequel to anything. ::g:: Except the Southern Comfort fic to date.

That said, my stories are here. Feel free to ask. ( Read more... )

stories: line war, writing: discussions, memes, writing: story ideas

::snickers:: Well, for one thing, the old bastard jumped out of a cake. Pandemonium ensued, Amanda and Cory seduced Tahir in tandem (Marc took over safeguard of Tahir's wallet 'til he came back), much dancing occurred, and drinking... and Kastagir dragged Farrell off to his room/Connor's spare bedroom because clearly they needed to have some long talks. Thank gods. Farrell needed to talk to *someone* about Owain, and no one's managed to put him and Matthew McCormick in one place, which is a pity, because they're going to have the kind of conversations that lead to people going, 'We told you you'd like him!' when they aren't looking suspicious and asking, 'How long have you two known each other?'

Oh please, write this? Christmas party stories are just so marvellous!

::laughing:: I need to, but honestly, I have a series of snapshots in my head on it, of things that happen and people who're there, and no plot whatsoever.

Sure, but wasn't that pretty much what "Crystalline Patterns" was? Which was an awesome story, BTW. Not that there wasn't *any* plot, of course. :-D

Yeah, but the difference is that Crystalline Patterns did at least set more plot threads in place as well as being just silly fun. ::amused:: This one lacks even threads.

How much bribery would be needed to get even the beginning of Farrell and Matthew's acquaintance, and would it be after the Southern Comfort series?

I'm willing to sacrifice chickens. Well, eggs....

::laughing:: Farrell is in the Aidan-verse. The Southern Comfort series is not. And they're going to meet up about... ::pauses, tries to figure it out:: Um. Kastagir at Christmas, Sharra in January, Ilya in March, Farrell... um, about November? So, Farrell will meet Matthew about a year and a half after the line war. Enough time to play 'smoother of troubled waters' for Stormy and Damien's wedding.

Cool. Tell me again how many stories you have on your to-do list?

::thoughtful:: Define 'to-do'. Started and in progress as the next bit strikes, more than thirty. Promised to HL Crossovers, another 97. And then there's something like 4 origfic novels and about 6 orig fic short stories.... One of which is off to the beta and two more are coming along nicely.

::grins:: Why?

You know that axiom that a poet has to be *ruthless* in protecting their musing and writing time? I think you're overly ruth, kiddo. I mean, you have a husband and a life and all, so kibitzing from faithful and eager readers just gets in your way. I want some of those stories written, so I'll just wait to see what comes along.

::snickering:: I also have five years worth of unfinished stories. Before I wrote Sirocco, which took forever, *everything* got finished. Then I got sick and I'd start something and not have energy to finish. Now I have unfinished fic *everywhere*.
