More Yuletide recommendations, still primarily found by hitting the random story link.

For your own random story, click here. For ones I particularly enjoyed, keep reading. Behind a cut tag, this time.

The Third Incurable Affliction: M*A*S*H. BJ, and Hawkeye - arrivals, immersion, and pain. Exquisite, and sharp.

Worse, He's Boring: Pride of Chanur books. Chur and Geran Anify, and how they went to space with Chanur. Gorgeously written, precise and perfect in detail, and if you liked the Chanur books, you really want to read this.

Incomparably Cunning: Iliad/Odyssey. Wonderfully done backstory for Odysseus and Penelope, and I grinned like a fiend all the way through it.

That Tongue Thing: Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Um. Summary. Right. "What happened last night, and why am I wearing Zaphod Beeblebrox's body?"

Tomorrow Morning: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Takes up immediately after the movie ends, and I enjoyed it more than the movie. Enjoy!

This New Thing, Which Consumes: Classical mythology. Kore, Aphrodite, Hades' kidnapping, and the making of Persephone from Kore. Gorgeously, unsettlingly done.

Naxian Wine: Mary Renault's Mask of Apollo. Of drinking, love, and a letter. Beautifully done.

Fairy Tale In Los Angeles: Barbara Hambly's The Silicon Mage books. Joanna, Antryg, and Christmas. Highly enjoyable, in a quiet, sit down and purr (and giggle) way.

The Six of Swords: Barbara Hambly's The Silicon Mage books. This one cuts you while you smile, and the reading is worth the ache. Go and read it. You won't be sorry, I don't think.

Hollow Lust: Laurell Hamilton's Anita Blake books, Richard/Edward. Takes place after Incubus Dreams, and while parts of it feel subtly off, most of it is perfectly on-key for the universe, honestly, even if Hamilton would never write this.

Will End In Fire: Eight Days Of Luke (book). I've never read this, but I'm looking for the book now. Dear gods. If you like Norse myth, and cricket, go read this. Wow. I'm still stunned.

The Devil and Mr. Stone: Brimstone. A look at Zeke's recruitment in hell. Snark, humor, and edges -- you know, perfect.

The Sleeping Castle: fairy tales. I can't seem to summarize this one without giving major spoilers, so I can only strongly suggest you go read it.

Other than that, Christmas has, so far, gone better than usual -- gifts given were well-received anyway. I still have to go to AL on Friday, for Christmas with Dragon's mom, sister, and her family.

Speaking of being out of town -- I'll be slow responding to Yuletide feedback, for which I apologize, but the author names go up on Saturday. I can't answer emails before then without blowing my cover, but I doubt I'll be able to get to them until I get home: Monday night at the earliest, maybeTuesday. (Seeing as Tuesday is my birthday, I probably won't do it then, either. ;->) Anyway, sorry, folks -- Wednesday for sure. I do appreciate the feedback I've gotten.

Man, I can't wait to find out who wrote what, and see all the fandom pimping that's likely to go on. ::whimper:: First I was gone when the stories went up, now I'll be gone when the author names go up. Drat. Oh, well. I hope everyone had a great holiday!
