I'm sick (or ill if you want to speak that way). My stomach has been bothering me all day, and after an attempt at napping it all away, I discovered just why I had felt like I was going to throw up. Gory details aside, I can tell that I am running a fever (though this has been mitigated by ibuprofen and acetaminophen [or paracetamol if you care to speak that way]). The asthenia has kicked in pretty hard, but I can just about get down the stairs without clutching at the handrails. The dizziness and nausea have subsided, but I still can't do much more than lie in bed.
Why the detail, you ask, o gentle reader? I don't think I've been sick beyond much more than a cold in some 4 years, and this experience has come to be rather foreign to me.
And of course, this is my first week of classes, so I am a little miffed that I will actually have to miss class time and work because of this. Now is too early to fall behind.
I was going to write an entry about the two feet of snow scattered around my neighborhood, about how it changes perspectives while at the same time being slightly seductive. That will have to wait until I can think straight.
