This poor neglected journal has been getting dusty lately. Oh well, I get to show those Warlord pieces at the end of the month, and one of these days (hopefully soon!) I'll manage to finish that Zeno's paradox of a personal painting. In the meantime, I finally broke down and joined Twitter - http://twitter.com/ncardiff - so if anybody wants random chatter, it'll be over there.

Kevin Chen's awesome and my sketches have gotten much better as a result. Most of the students in the class are a talent grade above SCAD, but virtually none are motivated enough to do their homework. I think it's really bizarre; I rarely see skilled but lazy people, so it totally mystifies me. (Heaven knows, enough the teachers I respected endlessly repeated that being a hard worker and always on schedule was often ultimately better than being natively talented.)

We're likely moving in late Dec./early Jan., since the recession (being good for at least one thing) means we can get a better place for the same price. Huzzah! We'll just be shifting a town or two away, so it shouldn't be too much of a bear, but it means I get to email all my poor ADs with my new address again. They must think I'm in protective custody or something at this point!
