Were I not at work, I would be using my vomiting rainbows gif again. Possibly over and over and over. I'm pretty sure that I look like the Buffybot, I'm smiling so wide!

This was absolutely perfect--the scenarios Buffy was coming up with and Spike's ways of reassuring her, her realization of how much she loves him, and then Dawn speeding up the process--I'm just incandescent with delight right now.

I also have to mention the meta angle with the potion and the Meltzer demons and how you managed to make a joke out of the whole comics situation while still blending it into the actual story to the point where it works. Brilliantly done.

And while I think what you've given us is perfect, I'd read whatever other endings you wrote, just because I'm sure I'd enjoy them, too.

This chapter reminded me that I've forgotten to comment on the meta of the story and what Whedon, et al have done to our Buffyverse in the comics. I love your use of meta here. Lately I feel like it is overused in fiction (and I mean all kinds, not fanfiction specifically) to the point where it has lost value for me. Not here. You made it work perfectly. Whedon, Allie & Meltzer really are demons, aren't they? ;)

I personally loved this ending. I think it fit with the rest of your story and brought Buffy and Spike's journey to the right point. However...I would absolutely love to read an alternate ending too. I love multiple endings because really, there is no single answer.

Definitely adding to my memories. :)
