Random Fandom Fun Poll #14
Today is the last poll! Thank you so much for participating. I had a lot of fun these past two weeks, and I hope you did, too. :)
I saved the crackiest question for last. #And I'm serious. #And I feel NO SHAME. :D
In the post-Chosen book Queen of the Slayers, by Nancy Holder, there is an extremely bizarre plot device in the form of an angelic little girl who is somehow the mystical lovechild of Buffy, Spike, and Angel. She appears briefly to help turn the tide of battle and disappears afterward. Buffy recognizes this girl because:
"She had eyes just like Angel's: dark and serious, with a hint of golden warmth.
And a smile like Spike's- when he really, genuinely smiled, a slightly crooked grin with a hint of the boy he must have once been" (p. 328).
Now, I adore Spike's smile (think S6 and drunk!Buffy!), and Angel has really nice eyes (think puppy eyes at Cordelia!), but this combination always struck me as a little odd because it seems like fandom is always lovingly describing Spike's cerulean/sapphire/bright-blue/utterly gorgeous/you-get-the-picture eyes and sighing happily over Angel's rare-and-therefore-all-the-more-wonderful smiles. Both combinations would probably be beautiful, but which would you have chosen?

My Opinion: Spike's eyes and Angel's smile. I really love Spike's smile (although I don't think I would describe it as "crooked"), but I'm a sucker for blue eyes, especially Spike's, so I think that combination has to win in my book. I like them both choices a lot, though. :D
