So CASA received a grant for $1,000 to buy books for the kids our program helps for Christmas, and the program director in turn asked me if I wanted to go book shopping. Little did she know the terror she was unleashing upon the bookstore and the minds of hundreds of children! @.,@ I went through the Youth, Sci Fi, and Fiction sections shelf by shelf, trying to find good literature appropriate for kids 5 through 17. I thought I'd share my harvest for comments/suggestions. I only finished half the book-buying I need to do, so if you know of any book you would recommend for any age 5 through 17, let me know.
