Well.... I'm considering the Air Force. Free housing, semi-free food, free medical, a steady job for four years and almost $1300 a month to piss away. And they WANT me. I have existing Digital Electronic training including logic circuitry, and I dabble in computer repair at home as well as have a natural disposition to electronics. Always have. That's why I have two working NES front loader decks that have seen almost constant use.
At this point you might be thinking "Holy CRAP! Why aren't you signing the paper and joining up?!"
Well for one, I'm Bi. And a Furry. So, in other words I'm sexually deviant. The military seems to frown upon this. And I'd have to cover it up for four years. I doubt they struggle to find it. The recruiter himself made it clear in his attitude that as long as you don't give them a reason to look, they aren't going to, but... it's not hard to tell that I'm not normal when it comes to my sexuality.
Secondly, and this is the more pussy reason, I fear bootcamp. Seriously. I'm definitely going to need some real comforting in this area if I'm going to join. If I did join, I could at least pride myself in the fact that I'd be able to whup the filth off of most red necks, but... mrrf...
I'm going to need some advice besides "It'd be good for you". That's all I'm hearing from my parents.
