What have we learned this week, children?
Fires are BAD.
So, the saga of the fire alarm continues.
Back on Wednesday, I think it was, once again the entire building woke to the screeching, siren call fo the fire alarm, Grumbling we all tumbled back outside, the n back inside within a few minutes. Then a few moments later I get a lovely IM detailing the fire.
This time, there was a real fire. And not what looked like an accidental one, though I really only know things through people who live on the bottom floor. Basically. in the basement (where my friend Evan lives), a pillow had been hanigng from one of the (hah) fire doors. Clad only in a towel and returning from a shower, he passedd by the door to his room (right next to it) and has a moment of
"Oh. The door's on fire."
...
Cue the frantic finding of people wearing pants to put out the fire. Thankfully no one was hurt (besides the door, now ash stained) but it could have been really bad. Electrical wiring runs right above that door, and it had been melted through--we could have easily gotten an electric fire out of it.
Needless to say, Lindsey is a tad unnerved by all of this. I am definitely thinking about going home again next weekend, if only for the garunteed sleep.
But that is not the end of the stroy, oh no!
Last night, at around 12 AM, we get another alarm. Alright, we're getting tired of this, no one's happy, we go outside, it's a false alarm. Great, we've got our alarm of the day, we're done, we're (being our hall) is majorly miffed, we go back inside.
Cue 2AM.
Fire alarm goes off. Kelly, Amanda, and I look at each other. Bang our heads against a wall, lock the door behind us again, and go back outside.
So, by this time, I honestly am not sure how safe our building is. There's no way to catch whose doing this, though apparently the basement hall seems to be suspicious. I wouldn't be so unsettled if not for the actual fire the other day. I understand all this is normal, 'Huuuh, it's so funny to pull the alarm' stupidity but this is getting really unnerving. BWC, the other freshman hall, is apparently unscathedd, but then again, it's less thena third of BPS's size.....
