I haven't updated in a looong
time...so i figured i'd take a couple seconds to update before i drown
myself in mashed potatos and turkey :)
*As most of you know... my nana passed away on Nov 7th. I really
can't believe that that happend, it really was incredibly sudden.
I definitely had prepared myself to hear that it was my papa... and I
still dont really think that she's gone... i mean, i know she is,but it
really hasn't sunk in yet. Jim and i went over there the other
day, and I'm still finding myself calling it "nana and papa's house" i
dont think i'll ever be able to not call it that. her clothes
were still hanging over the balcony as they always were, and her desk
was in the perfect mess that it always has been... it was so weird to
not see her sitting at her desk, and not to be able to talk to her...
my papa really isn't doing very well, and he doesnt even know that
she's gone. i had mixed feelings on whether or not it was ok not
to tell him, but i really think that either way we went..he really
wouldnt know. i mean, he spent every waking momment with her,
especially within the last few years that they weren't really going
out, and the fact that he's been so "happy" lately is just a sign that
he really doesnt have any cognition left to even know that something
has changed... anyways, the whole situation really is upsetting... and
it's so hard to know that she's gone, and that even while he is here in
body, his mind is no longer with us. My cousins and I stayed up
really late the night before her funeral writing a eulogy, I definitely
am really happy (not the best of words, but it is kinda what i mean)
that we wrote that... it really was nice (it was....) and i felt good
that i had said a few words.
well, on happier notes:
*my 22nd bday went really well =) the comedy club was great fun, and it was really great to see everyone.
*the apartment is a lot better than i thought that it was going to
be. My uncle and aunt from CA are in town, and the whole family
came over tues night to see our place... i was pretty proud of the fact
that after only a few weeks, we have only one box left =) definitely a
welcome change after our last place never really quite unpacking the
2nd bedroom... besides that, people seem to be decently friendly
and quiet around here... and the place is pretty nice, i must
say. so overall, i'm happy with the decision (that, and well, it
is kinda nice to be back in the home area... i know my way around here
really well, plus it's nice to be able to hang out w/people from around
here and not have to worry about driving all that way back)
*today is thanksgiving, and i really do have quite a lot to be thankful
for....all my friends and family, living in a pretty nice apt. and
still being able to attend eastern (haha, that last one was quite the
joke, just seeing if you all were still paying attention :))
i'm gonna go get ready for all of the festivities of today lol....happy thanksgiving!
