So this is my first day in Venice. I took a night train, which I was SOOOOOO paranoid with. I was terrifield that somebody, probably a gypsy (unfortunitely with the styerotype) would sneak into my room and steal my stuff. Thankfully, there was a lock on the door, but anytime anyone opened the door or rattled it from the outside I would wake up. Also, because I was so paranoid, I wouldn't put my bag under the bed, but put it up at the head of the bed and used it as a pillow, so I didn't have as much space to sleep in. So I was pretty tired by the time I got here. Thankfully, I got breakfast (lukewarm tea and a bun with strawberry jam), so that woke me up a bit. So I finally made it to my hostel, to find that the rooms and bathrooms are closed between 10:00 and 13:30, so I had to go wander around until then. I stored my bag and took a bus (and by bus I mean boat) over to the "main" area of Venice, and got totally lost. Seriously, if you ever go to Venice, don't expect to find your way around ANYWHERE!!!! It's worse than Amsterdam. I like it though. After I finally found my way back to my hostel for just about exactly 13:30, I got my shower and met up with a couple of girls in the bunks next to me. They are pretty awesome. We shared a bottle of wine and totally opened up. We talked about relgion, politics a bit, and all the things that you "are not supposed to talk about with strangers". It was awesome. I found another gemini, and we laughed at how the gemini personalities work, then went out and sat with a bunch of danes ouside the hostel and finished drinking some wine since you're not allowed to drink inside the hostel. Plus it was beautiful outside next to the water. So I got to see a bunch of Venice today, but not nearly enough. I'm looking forward to my next few days.
