Gintama amvs

So I was browsing youtube for Gintama amvs as I sometimes do... and came across two by my tumblr friend who actually happens to be Polish. I had known about her Gintama fic writing but not her vidding.

One of them is a very touching spin on the joui relationships in the Benizakura arc:

The second is a Takamui vid, which I really loved even though ( Read more... )

Pretty icon :)

Well, you probably know already that they're remaking the Sailor Moon anime? It's going to be more faithful to the manga this time.

I'm not an expert on magical girls but I can definitely recommend some stuff I enjoyed back in the day, like CLAMP titles (Card Captor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth) and Arina Tanemura's stuff (Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Full Moon wo Sagashite).

Well, with Ghibli most of the stuff is good, so pick up what you can get (I still have a lot of them yet to watch myself).

If you like stuff like this I'd recommend Mushishi. It's a short TV series (only 26 eps, basically each a different story) and it feels like a Ghibli movie in some ways.

Some other good ones - Natsume Yuujinchou, Tiger & Bunny, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Full Metal Alchemist (either the older anime, or Brotherhood, they're quite different - brotherhood is more faithful to the manga), Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club (a fun parody of shojo harem comedies), Fruits Basket, Darker than Black, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Mononoke (not to be confused with Princess Mononoke)...

The first 60 odd episodes of Bleach were really good if you're into fighting shonen. Then things went down hill (both with fillers, but also the main manga based plot not being that great anymore xD).

Of course my big love is Gintama, but it's long (so there's the time investment), and it has some really gross humour (which you can learn to enjoy but it can be a shocker at first). So it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I'm not really that great with the newest stuff because of getting busy with Bollwyood and now superheroes, but those are some solid titles from the last decade.

i think i've heard about shin-chan before... isn't that one of those old cult animes that everybody know?

Oh, yeah, it is quite old. It's not known by everyone, I think, but it is seen as a cult series by some people.
