This has been pending for a month now... yeah, I procrastinate for a living :P
The judges at first seemed quite stiff, but then they got into the mood, and loosened up. My favourite by far is Len Goodman (guy on the left). I love his evil Britishness, his humour is as dry as it gets... also I dream of having such an accent some day <3 Generally he seems to be there to temper the enthusiasm of the other two xD I was surprised that being seemingly quite restrained, he could pull off a stunt like the Len Commandments.
Bruno Tonioli is also pretty much spot on with most of his comments. The really interesting part, however, is the way he delivers them. He loves flailing his hands in the most incredible ways and he can't just describe the moves the dancers made... he has to show them :D It's really cute and reminds me of Kermit the Frog (who used to flail his limbs whenever he got enthusiastic) :D When he's not being adorable... he tends to be bitchy at times but it's usually justified.
Carrie Ann Inaba is a sweetheart, ever so kind and tactful. She's responsible for cheering up the people a bit after Bruno and Len have their way with them xD I needed some time to get attached to her, but when her inner fangirl took over a few times (the woman can squee like there's no tomorrow :D), I could help but like her.
Whereas I've grown to like them, I still think the Polish judges are better. Why? Simply because they have more chemistry. The American ones don't relate to each other at all. There's four judges in the Polish edition but still they seem more like a team (even with the ammount of arguments they have, or maybe because of them xD). Also nothing can beat their totally random sense of humour.
The funny thing is, that all the American judges are pros connected to dance in some way and in Poland only two of them. The other two are an actress and a singer and they're there to make the dancers feel better when they fail. These two usually give substantially higher scores than the pros. The funny part is, that actually tha judging in the Polish version still manages to be fair as it all stays proportional. The weaker dancers are never ahead of the better ones, as the serious score from the pros won't let them. It's odd but it works :) And actually till now, I've had more reasons to complain about the scoring in the American show than in ours...
The Polish judges in all their glory (presenting the mechanism I described above xD):
The Presenters are so-so in both editions. The Polish ones were funny sometimes but sometimes annoying as well... the Americans are just pretty bland (though Tom, occasionally tries...).
The band was actually miles better in our edition. Some of the covers were actually better than the originals (I'm looking especially at you, Katie Melua...). Heck, I even bought the CD, they released. The American band is at its best decent. And when they fail, they do it in an epic manner. Erin's tango to Sweet Dreams (poor girl, why did they force her to dance to something that makes a much better paso doble, as prooven in the Polish version?!) is an especially good example. Lady Gaga would not be amused either and I don't mean just Kate's dancing but the atrocious rendition of the song as well. You fail, guys.
To end on a happier note, I'll say, I CAN'T WAIT FOR EVAN'S RUMBA, WHICH I'LL SEE IN ABOUT TWO HOURS TIME... YAY! REMEMBER GUYS: RUMBA IS THE DANCE OF ~L O V E~!
