Dancing On The Pedals - Cycling Photos

Dec 10, 2013 21:00

As some of you may know, me and a good friend own a site called Dancing On The Pedals.
We do race reports and take photos at every cycling race we're able to attend during the year, both road and track.
Mostly we go to Danish races (as we don't have that much money and traveling is expensive, haha) but besides the Tour of Denmark, we made it to the Tour de France, Tour of Norway, Tour of Turkey and 6 Days races in both Berlin and Amsterdam.

I thought I might share a small selection of our 2013 season with you guys, as I think you might (hopefully) enjoy it. If you do, you should go like Dancing On The Pedals on Facebook *cough* shameless plug *cough* and feel free to share the site around to anyone you know who might be interested :)

The Berlin 6 Days was a great race and an even better show. Lots of discoballs in the ceiling and enthusiastic German spectators with whistles.

I know I'm not the only one smitten with the Riis brothers

The Tour of Turkey is maybe not the most prestigious race but the riders seemed to love it there

Norway is pretty much the Land of Edvald. It was so much fun to see everyone go absolutely crazy over Eddy Boss

Even the smaller Danish races are pretty competitive. Denmark has some great young talents, which makes for great cycling

Olympic Omnium Champion Lasse Norman with Blue Water Cycling team mates Mark Sehested and Thomas Riis

Soon-to-be Tinkoff-Saxo rider Michael Valgren during the U23 Danish championship

Kristian Haugaard rides for Leopard Trek while Lasse Norman will be riding for Garmin from 2014

Rain, rain, lots of rain. I'm sure former Team Saxo Bank rider Troels Vinther is happy he gets to do so many races in DK

Former HTC rider Rasmus Guldhammer plans on making it back to the WT some day

It's always fascinating watching the riders getting ready for a time trial, they're always really in their own head but everyone seems to prepare differently

After a time trial, Rasmus Quaade is usually the only one who falls off his bike and collapses on the ground

It's no secret that I quite like the Blue Water Cycling boys

And this guy

Aaaand these guys (seriously, I love nationals, so much awesome AND pretty to look it)

Nationals was also where Michael Mørkøv got his first ever pro win!

I always get goosebumps when I'm in Paris for the Tour. It's just something special

The Tour of Denmark was, like always, a highlight. So many amazing riders and so much great cycling. This race keeps improving every year and it's no wonder it's the biggest sporting event in Denmark based on number of spectators

<3

Denmark has cobbles, too

And hills (well, *a* hill)

It was amazing to see Matti Breschel back on form after having had a couple of bad seasons

It also was quite impressive to see young Magnus Cort win two stages in this race. It earned him several offers from WT teams but he's chosen to wait a year or two before he goes pro

I was lucky enough to get to follow Tyler Farrar in his ds' car during his TT, and talk to him throughout the day. It was very interesting and a super cool experience

Team mates next year: Jonas Aaen and Alex Rasmussen *happy sigh*

Benelux has post-Tour de France crits. We have Post-Tour of Denmark crits. Usually attended by the Danish riders who did PDR

Amsterdam has the smallest track I've seen but it was still a very cool race

The Danish Bike Award show is becoming an annual celebration of Danish cycling. It's a really fun night where everyone dresses up and has a good time

Aaaand Iljo Keisse last Thursday at the Copenhagen track

- So yeah, if you've liked these, please do go like Dancing On The Pedals on Facebook. Merry Christmas everyone! :D
