* I am recovering from some kind of flu/food poisoning. It was unpleasant. Get your flu shot.
* Aaron ate absolutely everything I did the two days prior to getting sick. He did not get sick. Either this is a really weird flu (I never got any sort of respiratory symptoms) or this is just another data point on the "Aaron is immune to food borne illness" chart.
* I was out sick from work for 2 days. When I came back there's a giant Whistling Swan and a couple of terns over my desk now along with the owl and Merlin.
* Writing often involves some unpacking of hangups or issues you don't realize you have until they pop up again and again. I apparently have issues with food. I had to do some rewriting when I realized the characters were eating for four scenes in a row-- Not one big continuous meal, four separate meals, in a row. /facepalm I suspect it is more laziness than personal issue. I HATE characters just sitting and talking, and having a meal allows me to do that while having them DO something. I can show how characters interact with food, interact with people over food, and show passage of time through devouring of food. There are six meals shown "on screen" in the story so far. That's a lot of eating. While there is an actual plot/world reason for the characters to be eating a lot... it's boring. I can do better. Also, it makes my readers hungry. I need to accept that may be a bug and not a feature.
