So in case you don't know by now, my lil one is finally here... he was born March 31,2007 at 11:09pm via emergency c-section. Here's my story.... I was supposed to get induced on Thurs but the hospital was booked so I was sent to get an ultrasound and see how the baby was looking thurs evening, by the time they finished the ultrasound the outpatient radiology place was closing so I was told to call Fri about being induced at 6am. I called and they were still booked and said that I'd have to wait until Wed. My dr called and told me to come in as soon as possible to discuss the findings on the ultrasound, so of course I freaked. I went in and apparently somehow I was really low on amniotic fluid so the doc sent me str8 to the hospital to be induced. I was in active labor for 36 hours and was having a hard time dilating. I got a couple of shots for pain which only made me sleep in between contractions and didn't help the pain at all but I wasn't dilating. Finally when I dilated to 1cm the nurse was like "you're only 1 cm and there's nothing else I can do to help your pain since these shots aren't working, did u want to try an epidural?" I was like "yes, pls!!!" So they took me to the actual delivery room to get the epidural and I was freaked out thinking "ok, I can't move and my contractions are like a minute apart, dude just said it would take like 10 min to make sure it's properly done, how am I going to do this?" But somehow it all worked out and that epidural was the best thing ever!!! I dilated to 4cm and apparently my cervix started to swell which made the nurses worry so they called my doc. He came in and and broke my water (boy is that the weirdest and grossest feeling ever especially when u're numb from the waist down and there's water going over those parts). Shortly after they realized that the baby's heart rate was slowing down with each contraction and called my doc again. He came in and said that he needed to get the baby out. My anesthesiologist was hella cool, I think he was australian or something. I'm sure most of u know how this whole process works but I'ma explain it anyways b/c i thought it was cool.... he used the epidural catheder thingy to pump more drugs in me to numb me from the chest down and then he used an alcohol pad to see if I could feel anything, when he finally decided I was numb enough the dr started cutting and I was like "wait!!" and the anesthesiologist was like "can u feel that?!?" I was like "no, where's my husband?" lol Jesse was working on getting his scrubs on still so they had to rush him in. I felt a lot of tugging and pulling but no pain, it was weird. Then the dr looks over  the curtain and smiles and says "it is boy" the anesthesiologist was pumping me full of drugs the whole time and he moved the side of the curtain and said "there he is" so I got to watch them cleaning up my lil guy. I couldn't stop staring at him....he's the cutest lil thing I've ever seen!! After they got him all cleaned up I was the first to hold him while they were sewing me back up. It was awesome. Then they gave him to Jess and they both had to leave while they finished me up. I tell ya, Jesse was the awesomest during my whole labor experience! He may not have to lamaze with me but he was awesome with the coaching and talking to me. I don't think that anything could ever bring as close as this whole experience has. It made me realize just how much I love this man and just how much he loves me. I honestly don't think that I would've been able to handle any of it like I did without him and I'm so glad that he was able to share in the experience with me. As soon as we got the "it is boy" confirmation he was like "thank you so much, I love you so much" and it just made me feel awesome and so reassured. My lil guy weighed in at 5lbs and measured 18.5in. We were told that his heartrate is still slower than normal and have to go to a cardiologist on Wed to see what may be causing it. His pediatrician says that he thinks that it has to do with my thyroid meds since I took them during pregnancy it is possible that they took over his thyroid functions too and that they'll be testing his thyroid levels in 2 weeks to see if that is the case. He said that if it is, theyll just need to jumpstart his thyroid and everything should be back to normal. I'm really hoping that it's nothing too serious...if prayer is your thing, please keep my lil guy in your prayers!  Anyways, I gotta go take a shower while the guy is asleep, but that's my story....I don't know how to post pics on here but I should have some up on my myspace here shortly, or u can check out the ones on my lil niece's page.
