What's in your trash can?
Tomorrow is the second weekly trash pick-up I've paid attention to in the new apartment house (recycling is every other, so not for another week)... and I don't think I'll take part.
I have one trash can that actually gets content regularly, in the kitchen. It's one third full right now. It's one-third full with plastic bags and cigarette butts (which I don't think it's okay to put down the garbage disposal, and would at least stink if I did). I really don't throw anything else out, at least not at home.
That was kind of shocking.
I mean, I do need to buy some bins for the recycling, but there's plenty of space (basement, secured alleyway between buildings) for those to sit for two weeks undisturbed that's not in my way.
