I've been out of commission lately, my back's all messed up, but I'm hoping to be in the line-up more regularly now as we wind down the season and get ready for October.
Mulder pitched great on Saturday, and (as you all know) we clinched the division. It wasn't all dramatic like I think the wildcard race is going to be, but we had hugs and backslaps all around, and then there was some champagne and stuff in the clubhouse after. Some guys went out into the crowd; there were some good stories floating around after.
It was bittersweet for me to have it happen at Wrigley, after having come so close there as a Cub a couple of years ago, but the certainty of the post-season is pretty nice, I have to say. I can't say I'm sad to be gone - I miss those guys, but they all looked pretty tired. It's not an easy town to lose in, I know that for a fact.
Next up, the Reds and the Brewers. We get Houston at home before the end of the season - maybe we'll play spoilers and keep 'em out of the wildcard.
