Eight years...almost
I've become so erratic (and largely absent) with respect to LJ that I'm going to celebrate eight years of blogging a week early. Eight years ago, next week, I was frantic about wrapping up my graduate program:

Now I'm frantic about an article that's due on December 1. I think it's in an ok place, assuming that nothing untoward happens between now and December 1. I've set expectations with my department that I may suddenly disappear for November 28-29 if things aren't going well. I'm already planning to work from home on November 30 as I'm sure there will be things left to do.
In the meanwhile, I'm at DEN awaiting my flight to ORD and thence to LHR, to spend a few days seeing shows and shopping and being inappropriate. After I fly back, I immediately turn around and fly to SFO for "that day with the turkey." Somehow in all of these flights, I expect to make progress on the aforementioned article. We'll see, I guess.
In other news, I added someone on LJ for the first time since I don't remember when. Months, perhaps a couple of years?
