Little dentist of horrors

After a seriously messed up dental visit to get a root canal (not enough novocaine, then the jerk shot morphine or something similar directly into the tooth - I sat in the waiting room for hours, madly hallucinating while watching Alice in Wonderland on the TV, waiting until I was sober enough to drive), I now have a discussion with every dentist on the 1st appointment. The basic conversation is this: "You hurt me, I hurt you. You get 1 freebie because you don't understand my thresh hold for pain. After the freebie baseline establishment, the equal hurt rule is in place. And believe me, you may be sitting above and over my face, but my hands are free to move about quickly and with intent. Oh, by the way, were you planning on having any children in the future? If so, I expect you to never hurt me."

The dentist you went to is an idiot and you should report him. It is also possible that he missed the nerve to the tooth that was having the work and by the time he tried to add more novocaine your tooth was hyper-sensitive. If that dentist had been working on me, he'd be a castrati now.
