So one of
littlepinch's friends has taken to calling me by a codename when I'm in a state of inebriation. "Is Sake coming out with us tonight?" he asks.
In my ongoing efforts to be a TW-wanna be, I've added a couple of trips to my list of forthcoming itineraries. Despite this, my boycott of the Central Time Zone continues unabated. The revised list is as follows:
22-25 Oct: Monteray, CA
27-29 Oct: Cheyenne, WY
08-12 Nov: Detroit, Albion, and Ann Arbor, MI
22-28 Dec: Portland, OR
29 Dec-02 Jan: New York, NY
Trips 3 and 5 are with
littlepinch. I have agreed to gasp in astonishment and declare Albion College to be the most beautiful campus I've ever seen, in return for which he will go to see the revival of Company. This is called compromise. I always wondered what difficult sorts of compromises would come with a relationship, and now I'm finally finding out.
I have realised that someone needs to create a web-based service where you can subscribe with your voice part and/or instruments you play and indicate what works you'd like to perform, and then you receive messages when a local group is performing said work(s). It would need to cross over genres to best suit my needs. For example, I want to know when a chorus is performing Die Schöpfung as well as when a musical theatre group is doing A Little Night Music. The ability to wildcard search criteria somehow seems less critical ("all musicals by composers named St? Sondh?") but perhaps I just don't have a good use case scenario?
