go cards!

we went to the UofL women's basketball game tonight and had great fun. the crowd took awhile to get into the action, unlike the last game we went to a few saturdays ago. the first game we attended was very active, but there were also a ton of elementary and junior high age girls there soaking up the college basketball scene. it's weird for me attending the women's game here. eventhough UofL has been ranked most of the year, there is still something missing that i know deep down to be women's college basketball. i grew up on purdue women's basketball in the days when women's basketball was only televised for the final game of march madness. people in indiana went to mackey arena for the experience and the shear love of basketball no matter the team rank or competitor. the college game was the pinnacle for women. so, back to tonight. there were some super-fans and the game was televised on cstv. yet, there was still something - the untangible passion for the game - that just didn't quite make it's way in. maybe it's just me. i don't know.

i'm still going back for the last home game :)
