Finished ADWD yesterday, and I've been debating between numerous ways to express my thoughts regarding the book as a whole. So far, here are a few of the frontrunners:
1) "Um, okay."
2) "Sure...I guess."
3) "Well, at least it wasn't AFFC."
4) "Buh!" (accompanied by shrugged shoulders and hands held chest high, palms turned up)
I'm going to post more thoughts after I delve into Pesci's spolier-laden post and refresh my memory on a few items. Pesci was on speed dial for me because I couldn't keep half of the conflicts/people/movements straight. (Maybe I have ADD...hmmm....it would give me a good excuse to not really pay attention to people.)
But it seems like the last two books have spent a lot of time moving us nowhere. Would you agree?
On a side note, George ranks #5 on the
NPR Readers' Poll of the Top 100 SF/Fantasy books. Not sure how I feel about entire series of books being ranked against individual novels, but whatever. They also put Watership Down and Frankenstein on the list.
