Hark the Herald? Fuck that. Listen to Pesci Claus

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the castle

Not an author was writing, for it was too much a hassle;

The notes were organized by the computer with care,

In hopes that Ty soon would be there;

The author was nestled all snug in bed,

While visions of Christmas dinner danced in his head;

And George in his skivvies, and Ty on his lap,

Both ( Read more... )

twinkies, night before christmas

George questions the work ethic of others ... anonymous December 28 2009, 18:01:10 UTC
(Reposting this since Pesci just made a new thread)

In his latest football whine post, which has become a staple of NaB, George complains that one of his teams isn't giving enough consistent effort:

"And the Jets... well, yeah, I'm glad they got the W, but really... call me old school, but I believe a team should play hard every week, no matter what."

That's right Jets, you lazy bastards, you should all look to George for how to get things done day in and day out. This man is a fucking machine who never takes a week off. He's old school, so you know he's all about getting the job done, no matter how much he may want to be doing something else or just taking it easy. No free paychecks, bitches.

God, this guy is un-fucking-believable. At this point I'm sure his fans would be happy if George had some semblance of work ethic for 1 week out of the year, let alone all every week, as he expects out of his football entertainers. Since neither of his teams are going to make the playoffs he'll have to wait at least another year to be satisfied. Fans of ASoIaF have it worse, of course, because even if he finishes ADwD next year we still won't be satisfied, as it'll probably suck as much or worse than AFfC.

And I like the poem Pesci, although it produces quite a few nightmarish images of George I would rather not have creep into my dreams some lonely night.

Thank you for bringing that quote to my attention. Out-fucking-standing. What a piece of work that fat slob is.

Pesci, that was some brilliant stuff up there.

The Sure-is-a-blog is a great place to find a chuckle.

Think about the fans who spent hard earned money to attend the game. They didn't get what was advertised.

Just replace "attend the game" to "read the first books", and I'd think we had another convert!

He was actually talking about the Jets' opponent, the Colts, who pulled all their starters in the third quarter, which allowed the Jets to come back and win. Because of that, and the fact that Cincinnati might do the same next week, R.R. Fartin's team could still make the playoffs, guaranteeing at least another week of The Mountain That Edits having his favorite excuse for not doing his fucking job.

Doesn't matter if he was talking about the Colts instead of the Jets - The Man upbraiding *anyone* for not "playing hard every week, no matter what" is sheer hypocrisy, and Anon was right to call him on it.

Heck, including that game, Colts did "play hard" for 14 out of 15 weeks. If The Man did likewise for a similar proportion of the year, Dance would be published by now.

If the Jets were to gain an extra point for every chapter that King Ham finished, they still would have lost that game.

I actually liked A Feast of Crows. Maybe not as much as the rest of the series, but still... It was pretty amazing

I am too absolutely pissed about GRRM not finishing the book while he is commenting about football every fucking week and even trying to sell his crap. Meanwhile the latest ASOIAF update just turned 2 yeahrs old...

But I just don't think one should bash the series itself just because the author is annoying of late
