Sorry for the absences folks, I was under the impression that Pesci had some sort of scintillating issues he was going to bring up with you all. (By now, you have probably figured out that FTBG is a truly well-oiled machine.) And if you've got snotty teenagers, you probably realized that the first quarter of the school year just ended, which is where I have been for the past couple weeks--slogging through tedious hours of grading, test retakes, and other meaningless activities that bear no resemblance to anything these kids will ever see in real life. Is it wrong that all I really want to do is watch episodes of House, play online deathmatches of Left 4 Dead 2, and rant about things that annoy me on my fantasy-themed blog? I think not.
Speaking of things that annoy me, let's talk about Chortles for a minute. He's apparently found his way to Marrakesh, and has remarkably managed to take his laziness to new heights. How, you ask? Well, if you read his blog post from 11.16.09, you probably noticed all the odd typos woven throughout his fascinating account of...well, I'm not really sure what. He seems fascinated by the detritus that Hollywood has left scattered all over Marrakesh. What is most telling, however, is his initial statement: "This is likely to be q strqnge looking post. I am typing it...on a French/ Arabic keyboqrd zhere many of the letters qre not where my fingers expect to find them."
While what he says may be true, it is also evident from his post that all of the correct letters do indeed exist on his keyboard. What does this mean? It means that he is too lazy to actually look down at the keyboard and make corrections to his own writing. He could just take an extra few minutes to write more slowly and correct his typos--because clearly he doesn't actually have anywhere to be--but instead, he's satisfied to throw any semi-legible crap on the blog.
I mean...seriously? This is how writers act?
Still working on the second part of the fantasy post. Is it just me, or are there wayyyyyy too many fantasy authors out there? Well, now that I think about it, there are probably too many authors out there, period. Methinks we need to thin the herd.
marrakesh,
