Hot Links

Hey all,

As you know, one of the things I truly love about doing FTBG -- besides the challenge of trying to make jokes about obesity -- is our fans.  In fact, all of you guys and gals (are there gals out there? Maybe one or two.) are way more fucking entertaining than Pesci and I can ever hope to be, so a hearty thank you to all of you for visiting, commenting, criticizing, arguing, and generally having a good time around here.

However, because there are so many, many people who are pissed off that the NAB censors their speech regarding ADWD, we have quite a large and devoted following here, and it can be tough to keep up with all of your comments on a reasonable and timely basis.  So I wanted to take a moment to advertise a few links that our loyal readers have sent me or commented upon.

If I forget to give you due credit for a link you sent me, please don't hesitate to message me and call me an insensitive asshole.  I can't guarantee that I will actually do anything about it, but I promise to feel really bad about it while I drink mimosas in my teen porn-model filled hot tub.

Blog of Ice and Fire
This is a new blog in which an ASOIAF virgin is reading the series for the first time and blogging about his experiences.  If you were a follower of the LOTR official fansite, you may recall a similar blog being done by a n00b reading LOTR for the first time.  You may find this interesting. (Thanks to steady_01 and Chris, the Aussie one, for this link.)

The ASOIAF Game
This one came to us from several of you nutjobs, but I think the always-entertaining wittynic was the first one to point it our way.  In case you hadn't heard, developer Cyanide has secured the rights to develop a game based on ASOIAF.  Not familiar with Cyanide?  Well, perhaps you have heard of some of their past achievements, such as Pro Cycling Manager.  No?  Well then, what about Pro Horse Racing Manager?  Not familiar with that one either, eh?  Hmmm... Blood Bowl? Or Dungeon Party?

Well, if you haven't heard of any of these games, check out their website and watch some of their trailers.  After you're done, I think you'll find it very impressive how George has brokered a deal with a contemporary studio such as Cyanide.  (And by "contemporary," I mean a company that has somehow managed to keep designing games that look like they're from 1996.)

Doc Nebula's Life Under the Bridge
I can't seem to find who sent this one to me, but here is another blogger taking aim at GRRM and his various snivelings.
In particular, Doc takes a look at the use of the word "troll," its definitions, use and misuse, all framed within the context of the NAB and George's refusal to acknowledge those who dare criticize his progress, or lack thereof.

New Steven Erikson Interview
One of our in-house favorites Steven Erikson has done a new interview in which he addresses time management, among other things.  This was posted in our comments section, but once again, I can't seem to find the original one.  So thank you to whoever gave us this, and enjoy the reading.

Trevor Padabadabalooski's Blog Rant
Another fun read; I had bookmarked this because of a loyal reader, and then forgot about it when I was putting this post together.  Thanks for the reminder, anonymous commenter!

Have a great Saturday, everyone. I'm trying to get off my couch.
