Both pros and cons, that is. I'm so happy to have become the conduit for all frustrations and praises regarding the long-delayed completion of ADWD.
Why, some of you ask? Why do I do what I do? Do I have a skewed sense of grandeur? Of entitlement? Am I doing this to simply entertain? To constructively critique? Or am I just an asshole?

It's great to realize I'm not alone, particularly with the fact that Martin spends so much of his time doing other things besides write. And I happen to be a big NFL fan myself, so I can imagine how it must grate on the nerves of those not even interested in football.
I suppose Martin owes us nothing in the grand scheme of things. But come on, one "partial" novel in over eight years??!!! And as previously mentioned, it's not even ADWD's delay that truly concerns me. It's how unlikely that the rest of the series will be finished, if we extrapolate his current pace. I'm slightly younger than Martin, but not by much, so the odds are increasing daily that either he won't get it finished or I won't be around to read it even if he does.
I'm a huge Dark Tower fan, since the beginning in 1982, and I once despaired of ever seeing the end of that great magnum opus. Then King got a taste of mortality with his horrific accident, and by God he knuckled down and cranked out three brilliant novels in rapid succession, and completed his lifework for himself and us fans.
I don't wish Martin ill, but I do wish he would just pretend he was on a tv deadline and FINALLY GIVE US THE BOOK WE'VE WAITED SO LONG TO ENJOY.
Keep up the good work here.
