This is all so exciting! Some people get excited about movie launches, but I get over-the-moon excited about book launches. I can't wait to get my copy of A Dance with Dragons, even though I have to read the other books first!
Gratz on the release George! Can't wait. Can you tell me if there are plans for an audio version, and when I might be able to purchase it (via a service such as Audible, for example)? Thank you!

I don't know about a downloadable copy, but Amazon is showing the Audio CD version as shipping on the 12th, same as the books. I imagine it will be available at your local book store on Tuesday as well, if you'd prefer to get it in person.

From the Audible site in the coming soon section.
A Dance With Dragons by George R.R. Martin (Coming July 12, 2011)
less than a week ago that wasn't there, I had gone so far as to open a chat with Audible's customer service, at that time they had no release so this is a new and encouraging development
I'll be reading mine on kindle when it comes out. Then I'll get a hardcover for you to sign at Redwood City. E-readers are great, but they aren't any fun for book signings. Yes, I'm a rabid fan! See you at the end of the month, sir.
I'm starting to get twitchy. I did my re-reads. I've avoided the spoilers. Now that we are in the home stretch I'm excited about what wonders await and apprehensive of what horrors will be lurking to break my heart.
