It's funny that this was on the page, because I was talking about this pretty recently with some of the housemates.
I had to buy boots for work. Most of my socks are ankle socks, so when I started wearing the boots, I got sores on my legs from where the boots were rubbing against my skin since my socks weren't tall enough. I looked into buying socks and eventually settled on some men's socks. They were $7 and I got 10 socks.
Just on a whim, I looked at women's socks. For $6.50 they had six socks. And they weren't even as good as the men's socks. I started to think about why women's clothes in general kind of suck and never last as long as men's clothes.
I came to the conclusion that it's most likely because women generally like clothes and don't mind replacing them. Whereas on the other hand, men like to wear clothes for as long as possible. This is not true for all men and all women, obviously.
