Yar, I've felt that way before. When I worked in customer service, we were taught to be interested in the customer's life/story/problem/whatever so that we could better serve them. Some of my co-workers thought this meant that they should complain to customers. I don't know why. Maybe it made them feel closer to them or something?
Whatever...all I know is that because of my amazing training at Hallmark, I often feel horrified at the customer service I now receive elsewhere.
I know, it's appalling. And the scary thing is, we can conclude from this conversation that this woman IS the "big boss" and training others. I weep for the retail industry.
