I don't know why it is, but I am hopeless at wrapping presents. This is a source of frustration not only for me, but for Tery, who is maddeningly efficient, using exactly the right amount of paper and tape, and even topping the gift off with a fancy Martha-style ribbon for added beauty. If you cut too much, just fold it under. Or shop at Border's because, usually, there's a charity there wrapping for tips to raise money.

Border's sounds lovely, but do they do odd-shaped things like shoes and pickle jars (another gift I have planned for Tery)? I doubt it. And books and DVDs are what I've come closest to mastering after only 15+ years. But still something to keep in mind : )
