i don't forward e-mails anymore (haha, i hardly send out any mail), but this story is so powerful that i want to share it w/the world!!

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a
terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."

"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer
replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.

"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked.

"Yes," the farmer replied proudly.

"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did. Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.

What saved his life this time? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name?

Sir Winston Churchill.

shoot, i love things like that...just when you think it's getting good, it gets even better! i felt the same way about abbot and costello's "who's on first" because the beginning has lots of funny parts, but the "i don't know. THIRD BASE!!!" is a killer!! :D actually, all the parts w/costello yelling are funny. anyway, if you haven't heard it in awhile, go download it!!! many thanks to samh who sent me the file. :)

Bible study was awesome tonight. although i usually stop my worrying before it becomes a problem, there are times when my worry remains unchecked and i stress myself out. i mean, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?! i just hope that i remember this because it has many applications. in fact, i already applied what i learned! during the week, i was worried that i was going to sleep late tonight because of the two essays that i have due tomorrow, but God put away my worry and helped me to concentrate on the tasks at hand. i finished the essays earlier tonight and even had my wonderful roommates look over them. :)! lol, i'll be sleeping late (it's almost 1:45 am), but it's for a totally different reason! hey man, staying up late is fun when you're finished with everything and just want to relax. don't worry, i can always sleep after my insanely early (8 am! o_O) math class tomorrow.

just to keep everyone informed, i'm taking archery!! ah hahhahaha, that's something that EVERYONE has wanted to do at some point in their life! the learning process is rather slow; during my first class, the instructor showed me how to shoot the arrow and told me to just keep shooting until i got bored. -_-; once he gave me more pointers, though, it became really fun!!! the only problems are the soreness and bruising of my left arm. ah hahhahaha, i think i was subconsciously trying to brag to joann about these "battle scars" when i told her that my arm hurt. but she never asked why it hurt, so i left it at that. :P

MAN, i should really go to sleep. later, friends!
