A meme gacked from the lovely
travelsintown I have to post about twn things starting with whichever letter she gives me. She gave me an R.
1. Romance
I love romance, but not the flowers and hearts kind, the kind where I mention something I'd like in passing in say, April, OH remembers and gets it for me for Christmas or something.
2. Rings
As in the five gold ones from the Christmas song. I don't care if I look like a pikey/chav hybrid, I do love to wear rings and have more than I have fingers.
3. Robin Hood
All kinds of Robin Hood, TV series old and new, disney film (see icon), and Prince of Thieves, despite it starring Kevin Costner who I loathe. I've always loved the story since I was little, and about fifteen years ago my friend and I drove through Nottingham and I grinned like an idiot the whole time!
4. Red Arrows
The awesomeness of the aerobatic team that make up the Red Arrows has never failed to impress me and I've been lucky that wherever I've lived it's usually been in their flight path. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about seeing them.
5. Relaxing
My body has no trouble doing it but my mind refuses to, which is why I have such trouble sleeping. I cannot make my mind relax no matter what I do. But some of the things I do to try are long baths, reading and cross stitch.
6. Remeniscing
I suspect I do a little too much of this. I love to remenisce, about my childhood, old jobs, friends past, anything really. When I meet up with my oldest friend, we talk about the same things from our childhood over and over but it never gets old.
7. Rhodium
Something I'd never heard of until about a year ago. Rhodium is a precious metal, part of the platinum family and what the bracelet OH bought me for Christmas is made of, (see Romance). As I am allergic to most metal apart from gold, I am delighted that Rhodium doesn't irritate my skin. I might 'mention' the matching ring next...
8. Rap
There's no genre of music I dislike, I take each song as I hear it, but I've always had a soft spot for rap music. I think it's maybe because I wasn't a very popular teenager and listened to it to try and get 'in' with other teenagers (this was before my personality turnabout once I left school, got a job and stopped caring what people thought of me!), only to find I actually enjoyed the music and lyrics.
9. Recycling
I have to admit to being a bit of a recycling addict. I don't use carrier bags, I shred every bit of paper that comes into our house so it can be recycled and I even bring home used magazines and newspapers from work because we don't have recycling facilities there!
10.RSPCA
In my opinion the most worthwhile charity there is. I donate to them monthly and have for years because nothing angers me more than cruelty to animals. The people who work for the RSPCA have my upmost respect, because they do a difficult and what must sometimes be a heartbreaking job.
