Multnomah Falls

May 10, 2010 23:06

Saturday I went out with a friend and took a whole mess of photos.   Seriously.  A mess of 'em.   Due to the circumstances of the last couple of days I haven't had time to go through most of them.  But I did distract myself last night and went through a small portion of the ones I took at Multnomah Falls.  We met there early on Saturday before most of the tourists showed up.   I took photos and videos at the base of the Falls and then we walked up to the bridge where I took more.   By the time we came back down, the place was teeming with people.

We later drove around Portland and out over the St. John's bridge and finally went to the Japanese Gardens.   As I get through all the photos I'll be posting them in batches.

Click on any to enlarge them.

above :: I hadn't realized the Falls had similar lampposts as downtown Portland.

above :: close up of the bridge and upper falls from the lower platform.

above ::  I don't think I've ever been to the Falls when there were so few people around.  This is the first photo I've ever taken of it without any people in it.

above :: another bridge closeup

above :: a closeup of the upper falls.

above :: just cuz

above :: as I was cropping this in Photoshop I accidentally pushed the zoom in button and ended up seeing this crop.  Loved it.  Kept it.

above :: another just cuz

above :: here's one where you can see people on the bridge.

above :: I was cropping this photo and was just about to crop out the people when I really looked at them.   I love this photo.  I have a few more with this couple in different positions trying to take a photo of themselves in front of the Falls.
