LA Con 2009 - My Photo Ops

My Photo Ops

Also, here's a link to my Master Post for all my LA Con 2009 reports.

On Saturday, the photographer was using this awful backdrop which didn't go with anything and just looked terrible. I'd brought a green shirt to wear and ended up hating it with the backdrop--so I switched it out on Sunday for a sweater that I'd randomly thrown in my suitcase at the last moment.  (Note: the Richard photo op is not scanned--this is a snap taken on my small camera.  I still need to scan this one.)

1) My photo op with Richard aka The Trickster.

2) Malik (aka Hendriksen) Photo Op.

Now Malik is a major league hugger. If it weren't for the backdrop I'd LOVE this photo. But even with the sucky backdrop I like it a lot. Folks at the con were calling this pose the "Engagement Pose."  (Note: the Malik photo op is not scanned--this is a snap taken on my small camera.  I still need to scan this one.)

ETA:  I have to add this.  I showed these photos to my kids the day I returned.  My son (15-year-old) was *very* impressed with this Malik shot.  He said he looked like a homey and he wanted to meet him.  My son now wants to go to the next con with me.  Of course--it's sold out.

3) Jensen Photo Op.

Thank God Chris (the photographer) switched out that suckie backdrop so that on Sunday we had this terrific green backdrop.

Jensen tried to give me teeth--he really did! We were early in the line and saw how relaxed Jensen was. Smiling and hugging and talking with folks. I think it threw me so much that I forgot how to smile! So yeah, my first con photo op with Jensen remains the best.

I did get eye-crinkles though. And Jensen put his arm around me and when it was over, thanked me and rubbed my back a couple of times.

4a) The J2 Photo Op.

Jensen looks a little left out doesn't he?

Hee!   (You'd never guess that I'm a Jensen-girl.  I swear this is just *something* about Jared...)

When you look at the Jared photo op you will see just how much taller Jared is than me. I'm 5"4'. So Jared was bending down a LOT! I went to place my arms around the fellows' backs. Because Jared was bent over so far, his rear was sticking out a lot in the back. When my arm first went around him, it was stopped by his butt! I quickly pulled away thinking, "OMG I touched his butt!" But then I thought the photo would turn out wonkie if my arm was not around his back--so I tried again!

*headdesk*.

So at the time of this photo, guess where my hand is?  OMG, How embarrassing.

*headdesk again*

*hopes he didn't realize, connect it with me, remember it, or something*

ETA:  (My daughter's gonna kill me for this)  Another additional comment.  When my daughter saw this J2 photo op she said she wanted one herself and asked if the Vanc Con was sold out.  She wanted to go to a con with me!

*fist pump!*

And now when she reads this she's gonna roll her eyes and said "I told you so!"  (inside joke).

But really, this con was so much bigger than the first LA Con.  It was the first comment out of Jensen when he came into the breakfast.  And Misha's words were "Holy shit!" when he saw the size of the audience.  I really think the appreciation for how much fun these things are is spreading.

At the end of the J2 Panel, Jensen was actually pimping the upcoming cons and saying we'll see you there!  And who's joining us?  I think the boys really recognize that they have a very unusual relationship with their fans.    Alona even admitted during her panel that she was kinda jealous of it a bit.

You don't see LOST or Grey's Anatomy cons do you?

4b)

Someone suggested that I crop in closer for a Jared and me photo op! Great idea--turned out great!

5) Jared's Photo Op.

In Chicago, Jared greated me with a very sexy, "Hey Babe!" Which completely discombobulated me. The first greeting he gave me this time was also a "Hey Babe!"

*giggles like a stupid school girl.*

I don't like Jensen sitting during the single photo ops because I look taller than him. I think that Jared should sit though. I don't look taller than him when he sits and I'm so short in comparison to him that this photo just looks out of proportion. In fact, it's a landscape shot that I cropped to a portrait--which had the added benefit of removing part of my rear-end! I didn't expect Jared to be so huggie (stupid me!) So when I stood next to him I was prepared for mostly facing forward during the shot. But Jared reached out and enveloped me.

Not a bad thing really.

But since I wasn't prepared I ended up leaning over to hug back which had the effect of causing me to bend over and appear even shorter!

But still--getting the hug was worth the weird result.

Okay one more ETA:  My husband kinda went on and on and on about how huggie Jared was in this photo.  He kept looking at it saying--look at how he's *hugging* you.  He was laughing.  But he was also eyeing it a bit suspiciously.  Then he spent the rest of the evening trying to beat out Jared's hugs.  Altogether not a bad thing.  (He did good too!)

5) Misha Photo Op

Misha's photo op was scheduled at the end of the day on the LAST DAY!  I was EXHAUSTED!  Plus it meant that the photo would not be available at the convention so had to be mailed later.  It didn't come for several weeks.  As you can see, Misha was very huggy!
