Life as we know it

As long as Hannah's asleep, I have some time here.

Firstly, Hannah is 11 months today. Really?? Yes, the calendar says really. Geez. She is crawling well and likes to follow Mommy everywhere now. I think to myself  Good, Hannah is busy playing in the living room, so I can sneak into the kitchen for some water. And then, I see her determined face approaching around the island in the kitchen. She's too funny. She still cracks us up and enjoys sounds. She copies many noises that she hears now: the vacuum, other children, the Swiffer...(the sound of the cleaner spraying on the floor). Oh, my quirky little girl.

Secondly, we just returned from a 4.5 day trip to Colorado. Would we have liked to stay for longer? Of course, but we take the chances we have, and I did not want to attempt flying back without my husband, so we all came back together. Hannah did very well. We even got compliments on her quiet behavior. Of course, planning the flights at her nap time and then bed time were to no avail as she happily played the entire time. However, we will happily take that! She of course re-bonded with my mom easily and took to Gordon rather quickly. (Facial hair always peaks her interest.)  She ate her first dose of Indian food (naan, rice, some veggies), we went to the Garden of the Gods (which she happily slept through), and she even took a spa-like bath in a Rubbermaid container on the balcony with a mountain view while listening to Andean music. What a life. The conclusion of the trip was that I miss my mommy. Seeing her with her granddaughter is so precious and her gentle wisdom makes me feel so cozy.

Thirdly, Mark has changed career paths, which I may have already mentioned, but here it goes again. He is at North Central College in Naperville heading toward an MBA in Finance. He is interested in the Analysis aspect of finances, and is excited at the numerous openings and options within this career field. The thing that bites is his classes at the moment are on Wednesday nights, so he is gone from 6:30am until 11pm.

Fourthly, I went to Kohl's today to finish a Birthday gift card, and spent about $80 more than I planned to. I bought a dress and 3 tops that I had been admiring, and I made the common mistake of walking through the Hannah-size clothes. Baby girl clothes are TOO CUTE, especially when they are 60% off! Oh well, Mark's girls have to look good!

Fifthly, I like ice cream.

The End
