(no subject)
So I am about to go to a baby shower that the school staff is throwing for me. Tammy (we've become friends, she teaches next door to me and I helped interview her & get her on board) just told me she won't be able to make it. She and her husband of 11 years are recently separated, and she learned a handful of years ago that she could not conceive at all. She said that a baby shower is not something she can handle right now. I understand her position and admire her honesty...but her not coming is seriously making me sad. I cannot truly know how her situation feels, and I think about her every day. I don't know if I am crying because she's not coming or because I am feeling for her. It's just a bummer. Everyone else will be there and I will enjoy feeling the love. The party must go on.
