Vacation started 4.5 hours ago.
And I am SO ready to go home. See people who have more than 8 months of familiarity to their faces. Do thing that don't require me to be beaten over the head with the fact that I live in a historic area. Sleep in a bed that doesn't have a crater created by some unknown body before me.
And get away from this place which, in the past few weeks, has been, well, a little like hell.
The insipid mediocrity that seems to permeate every aspect of life here on campus has been increasingly unbearable.
Yes, I am drained, and tired, and burned out. So perhaps I'm being a bit harsh. But even so. I'm ready to leave.
