Schim Schimmel
Chrissy's wedding was absolutely fucking perfect, and I'll devote a much longer, entire post to it later on when I have more energy. Right now, I want to talk about tigers in space.
I happened to have a Schim Schimmel bookmark from way back in the day on my desk today and when my roommate laughed at it I had to explain. The floodgates opened and it all came rushing back. Tigers in space! Dolphins in space! He was the guy who had these bizarre works of "art" that looked like cut and paste pictures of exotic animals drifting in the cosmos, or lounging about on interstellar bodies. Most of the time he did tigers, but his second favorite seemed to be dolphins, with the occasional koala or elephant.
It seemed in the 90s everyone had a stupid bookmark or T-shirt by this guy. Does anyone else remember this? It brought a short moment of "Oh my God, the 90s!!" to my day, and I rejoiced in its nostalgic tackiness.
