From the Silence, Comes a Complaint

Picture me in a Red Pirate's Coat, with a large hat, black locks and a hook for a hand saying. I HATE, I HATE, I HATE VERIZON .

I've said it before I'll say it again. I've avoided them like the plague after years because they are forever ridiculous. They have a monopoly. I hate that. There are no choices in land lines practically anywhere anymore and because of that they can, and do, do whatever they want. Including never letting you talk to a person when you need one, not that many companies do anymore.

When I moved I researched all options for my new found big city communication possibilities. It turns out, I'd need a land line afterall so I had to call them. While trying to set up an installation of a phone line with the phone company, I was side stepped and passed several times to not the phone department. Repeatedly being asked, "Don't you want our high speed internet?" "Don't you want FIOS?" "Don't you want wireless?". No, no, no and more no, just the phone ma'am, please. After finally getting the phone installation set up, she asks, shall I transfer you to the internet department. GRRRRR, you are a phone company, please just give me my phone.

My first bill came with, guess what, and inviatation to sign up for FIOS. When I called to complain that the phone installation hadn't worked, guess what, "Don't you want FIOS?". I get a letter practically every week, saying I should get FIOS, but today, today was the kicker. I get an oversized thick cardboard envelope. Inside was a one page letter, that guess what asked me for FIOS.

I can't believe the cost to them? the waste of paper? Its maddening I tell, you maddening. You know what...if I didn't have to have this friggin land line for work, right out of the wall it would come.

That reminds me, I still have to call them to get them to fix the jack in the room where I wanted the phone so I don't have a wire strung across the entire department. I'm avoiding it, cuz, you know, they'll ask me about FIOS one more time.
