What do you do with your comms or forums personally when you're going away? Do you trust that they'll be alright? Do you make a few posts before you leave, to hopefully keep activity going?
I make a post saying I'm going away. If the community has some regular post (like the weekly game schedule), I ask for a volunteer to do it for the time I'm gone.
Its worked out so far. For the small communities they're usually fine. For a larger one, I like to make sure there's another moderator who will be around to deal with stuff.
