It's not that I don't like food... it's that a lot of "food" doesn't belong in my body. No mangos, no bananas, no hot stuff (including things that most people call "mild"), and generally not too acidic.
I was a vegetarian for 10 years, from the ages of 11 to 21. I remember cooking for myself a lot in that decade. And it's as if those memories have been wiped from my mind. With the exception of certain boxed foods that were one deadbeat boyfriend's faves, I can't for the life of me recall what the hell I used to do in the kitchen all the time.
I've even purchased a few cookbooks, and though I've flipped through them, I am wholly uninspired by them.
And everyone raves about Trader Joe's. Srsly? It's like any other store to me: I have no idea what to look for, get completely overwhelmed and I usually end up leaving with nothing.
So, my dear ones, I am asking for you to share with me:
A) Your weekly (or more often) food shopping lists
B) Your favorite *simple* recipes
I still love vegetarian food, so I won't be disappointed with input from my veggie friends, but I would really love some ideas on what the hell to do with meat, fish & poultry - and how to shop for them. Particular insights for dealing with shopping, cooking and eating or 1 would be most helpful!!!
Loves to ya.
