Aw, Matthew. It seems so reasonable, so logical, to believe that France and England still compete over him, as sad as it is.

This was so heartwrenchingly bittersweet. It depresses me what he has to subject himself to to be noticed...

But this was also so amazing with characters and concept, and your execution was excellent. <3

Thank you :) The whole France/Canada/England backstory of changing hands and conflicted ties and being loyal and ultimately being forgotten, is really interesting to me but I've never come across a lot of fic for it.

I wrote only one before, but it is a bit different from this in the fact that it takes place while Canada is still a colony...

This is a very bittersweet triangle.
