Well, the last week of 2006 sure was interesting. Christmas Eve at Carolyn's was awesome as always. Movies on Christmas followed by lots of Guitar Hero 2 with J.
29th was Clutch at the Starland Ballroom. The opening bad was The Sword, and the best way I could describe them is as an aural assault. They were LOUD, and being up on the barraqcade right next to the speaker didn't help. My ears were ringing for 2 days after the show. Clutch, of course, was amazing as always. The show was shorter than last time I saw them, as it was only one set instead of teo, but they managed to get most of my favorites in there, as well as a bunch of new songs from their upcoming March album.
New Years Eve was spent at Anastasia's, and I managed to have a lot of fun, even though I was torn away from my precious Twilight Zone marathon. Saw Jess Creech there completely randomly, which was nice. Haven't seen her in a long time.
And so begins another year. I'd do a retrospective of 2006, but my memory escapes me. Highlights include: Graduation, summer Europe tour with J, Toronto, seeing TOOL 3 times, Dream Theater's 20th anniversary show and subsequent DVD release, Opeth's sold out Chronology show, working on my first feature, Nanny 911, and so forth.
It's been an eventful year, my friends. As for resolutions, I don't believe in them, but all the standards apply: eat better, exercise, get in shape, bla bla bla. We'll see how that goes.
