public service announcement
I guess I'm done volunteering, but that only makes me feel guilty. I need to pack and get things situated for my trip, I know, but these last few days have opened my eyes to how many people are in need and how much is yet to be done. It makes me very disappointed in myself to be leaving, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. I hope some folks here take up my slack.
Went to the Field House again today, but, like last night, they had more volunteers than needed (which is a very good thing, considering). Also got turned away from the Islamic Complex. So, I ended up at the River Center. It was a madhouse. My dad and I got stuck being crowd control in the makeshift movie theater and ended up being of no real use (although my dad did break up a fight). We told them that we came to do lifting and other physical tasks, but things were so disorganized there we just got thrown somewhere out of the way.
If anyone feels an urge to see me before I leave the country (to return in January or maybe never), please contact me soon. I fly out Sunday at 11:20 AM. Much love to the cool kids.
