COMMENTARY

Leo Sayer just manages to hang on to #1 by a whisker, with strong competition by both Joey Negro and Studio B, authors of last year's club hit I See Girls which failed to make this chart. Dirty South return to the Top 10 after 2005's #1 Sleazy, making it three Australian artists in the Top 10, and all three have reached the top spot before (bar Evermore).
Mary J Blige scores herself two songs simultaneously in the Top 10, whilst Corinne Bailey Rae takes the biggest drop straight out of the Top 5 down to #12. Madonna manages to spend a 19th week on the chart, with the release date for Jump inching closer, watch for another Top 5 debut from the Queen of Pop. Could she take home Artist of the Year this year, after last year's shock winner of the award, the Freemasons, ahead of Kelly Clarkson?
