Another year: Day the One hundredth

I figure that I should feel pretty good about the fact that I managed to fight inertia and once again strap on the boards to make a circuit of the back forty. This is mostly notable because I managed to do this *after* clocking four hours in town doing baseboards and painting and the like. It would have been easy to just say 'the heck with this, I already did my time' but some good guilt reared its ugly head and told me I'd be wasting a beautiful day and so I caved.

I'm glad I did. The conditions were really really exceptional with a temperature around minus five and pretty much no wind. The late evening sun was really pleasant and I had a good slide. Also, pictures!

On the way out the low sun was lighting up the hillside with intense light and shadow

Unlike yesterday the ski trail was repeatedly crisscrossed by animal tracks (Click on image for a larger view)

When I got to the top of the hill which is kinda/sorta halfway back to the house the sun was seriously heading for the horizon. It was time to get mobile. (This image is also embiggenable with a click)
