From the Star Wars LJ board:

If you were in Anakin's position, would you turn to the dark side?

I'm so glad someone agrees with me! Everyone on the board was all "I just don't think I could kill all the kids" and "Why can he kill the Jedi kids but tries to save his own?"

Like, duh! They're HIS. What's the confusion?

I'm totally with you on this.

What don't they get? The kids are in his way, so they aren't even really human to him anymore.

Exactly.

Good to have you back, btw - you were not really around the past few days. :-)

Also, sort of OT but not really - I know you do some yarn crafting. Do you sew as well?

Well, what with the breakup, I've tried to keep a low profile, just recharging.

I do sew! I like all sorts of fiber/fabric crafty goodness.

And thank you. That's awesome to hear.

I had no one to geek with during the day! *faint*

And I'm sorry about the breakup - it sounds like you're handling things remarkably well, considering.

You know Padme's light blue dress from EpIII - the one in the "please wait for me, I'm going off to kill the Separatist leaders and cement my rise to power" scene? You think that's too hard for a novice sewer? Found a Simplicity pattern that shouldn't be too hard to modify - although that cape/shawl/cloak thing - oy. And those little sleeve things...

My personal sewing philosophy is that if there's something you want to sew, you should totally do it. While you might have some tricky moments, there's nothing in any pattern that you won't be able to figure out.

I'm not a pattern sewer myself. Once I figure out how the construction works, I'm all about the freehanding(cutting?) and it usually works out pretty darn well.

My only advice, before tackling something like that, would be to make a practice one first, so you don't mess up expensive fabric.

Yay! I'm signing up for a sewing class - I got a D in home ec on a sweatshirt I made (and that was AFTER my mother de- and re-constructed it). I'm excited.

I'm a little intimidated though - the pattern for that dress and the Jedi cloak I'm looking at for my husband requires a 60" wide fabric. I hope G Street carries stuff that wide, because Joann Fabrics sure doesn't!

Oh, I'm pretty sure they do.... You do know those bolts are usually doubled over, right?
